If you have a credit card, you feel totally rewarded. You can’t help but to feel powerful and it is as if you have no limits when it comes to shopping.

People who love shopping will not ignore the idea of getting their credit card. Hence, credit card shopping will turn into a meaningful endeavor if you are equipped with reliable and helpful reminders.

What to Do When You Decide to Do Credit Card Shopping

  1. You have to compare various credit card providers. And take note, because everybody uses the same credit card does not mean you have to do the same. You need to carefully choose so you will make a huge difference in your lifestyle now that you have the means to get a credit card.

  2. Who would want a credit card that gives high interest rates? This is why, you need to do comparison and if possible tabulation. Credit card providers definitely disclose their interest rate to attract clients.

  3. You have to know your APR or the Annual Percentage Rate. The APR pertains to the total interest amount, the transaction fees, and other service charges annually and the amount is usually expressed as percentage. If you determine your APR you also determine whether or not the interest rate that you will have to pay suits you.

  4. Don’t go for teaser rate or the so called introductory rates. You have to be smart and getting deceived by the teaser rate is not smart at all. This is because there is a tendency that the introductory rate will increase and the interest rate that has been advertised will be put aside.

So, if your first bill arrives in your home, don’t be surprised at all especially if you openly admit that you took the teaser.

  5. How is interest rate calculated? Banks will charge the interest through your average daily balance. If you have a credit balance of $1,000 and you paid $700 for the month, the succeeding month, you will be charged on your $1000 balance because it is considered your average daily balance and not the $300 remaining balance you still owe the company.

  6. Have you reviewed and assessed your grace period? Your grace period pertains to the period between your first purchase date and your due date bill. So, always make sure that you have grace period every month so that your previous balance will not always be carried to the preceding balance.

  7. Don’t go for annual fees that are apparently high. If the company offers flat fee, you have to expect paying more for the interest and other hidden charges. Hence when you are doing credit card shopping, go for the company that doesn’t have the flat fee or a credit card that doesn’t have annual fee.

These are the ideas that you can take into account during credit card shopping. In the end, each idea will mark a difference in your decision making process, and it will yield good results.
